We have all provided designs which we are mainly screen printing. We have also all designs some tshirts to sell. Niall managed to get a well known street artist to contribute to our events which is great, and Francesca's boyfriend on fine art is also providing some designs and helped out with the screen printing.
We will treat the evening as an exhibition, fair and creative social event, and will be held where Niall works at the Library pub- which he managed to hire out for free for us.
We have decided to split all costs evenly and then split any profits, if any. We have kept a costings log this week to keep track of any expenses so that we can work out any profits and also help us with how much we should price each print at.
Me and Francesca kicked off the first half of reading week by setting up screens and printing as much as possible. Niall and Kirsty joined us today as Niall was on placement and Kirsty was away for the weekend and we managed to make really good progress, finishing off most of what we intended to do. Everything is coming together nicely and we have a great range prints showing our different styles.
We have set up a Facebook group to let people know of the event, and also purchased a web domain, www.inpressdesign.co.uk which we will make live once we have put all of the event details up.
Tomorrow we are going to photograph our range of designs and price everything. We intend to all go and view the space in The Library a couple of days before the event and work out how everything will be laid out and think of anything else we may need. Tables and chairs will be provided by the pub, Amber has kindly agreed to take out some easels from the college for us and Niall said that there id a hanging rail at the pub for us to hang our tshirts.
We have also put up posters around the college and printed off around 100 invites which we will give out and put in peoples pigeon holes. Closer to the event we will email everyone on graphic design, and various tutors to invite them to the event.
Niall designed the posters and invitations and is in the process of designing a publication to be either handed out or sold at the event. He also agreed to start up our website which the rest of us have no clue how to do.
