Factory4/ inc. workshop

After the success of the InPress shop at the end of year graduate shows, we managed to secure some more events for the summer. Unfortunately however we came across a problem- the printing facilities at college were closed for the summer. So me and Francesca managed to get a joint year membership at the screen printing studio, Factory4, now known as inc. workshop. We felt that it was important to do more printing, to keep the design work produced by InPress new and fresh. It was a really good working environment, and we got talking to some really interesting freelance artists and designers, that we have kept in contact with.

Tealby

After a long hard year of Graphic Design, me and Char decided to go down to Brighton and have a good time. From there we went straight to Tealby, where Chars family live. It was really nice to just clear our heads and prepare for a research filled summer and a long hard third year.

Museum visits

While I was in London I decided to make the most of my time and visit some museums. I went to the Natural History and Science museums with Charlotte and Francesca. The Natural History Museum was really fun and I always love going, although it wasn't directly relevant to my design practice, I enjoyed going somewhere educational just for personal interest.

The Science Museum, however related more to my dissertation research. There was a whole section dedicated to sustainability and the environment, and I managed to get some great primary research.

D&AD New Blood

Me, Francesca and Charlotte travelled down to London to check out this years D&AD new blood. Despite the ridiculous heat and cramped conditions, it was really great to see this years graduate work and gave me a level to aspire to. I also managed to collect a few business cards of students I liked the work of, so that I can have a look at their work in more depth later on. Over all it was a good day.
